Fun For the Whole Family at Adventure Aquarium

We received complimentary tickets for the family from Adventure Aquarium. All opinions are our own.

As I previously said in our post about Hippo Haven, we have not been to an aquarium as a family until now. We live right in the middle between of Baltimore and Philadelphia, so there are many options for us. Adventure Aquarium is located in Camden, NJ. After our visit, I think Adventure Aquarium was the perfect choice for our first visit!

Adventure Aquarium

One thing I noticed was just about everyone has a stroller (or so it seems). You know that feeling when you feel like you’re being a pain and in the way because you’re pushing a stroller around? Not here! We brought the sit-n-stand and the carrier and ended up using both.

We started our morning out with the penguins. We arrived just in time for a feeding!

I thought they were beautiful and I loved hearing all about them while they were being fed. Charlie thought they were neat, but he’s 3. He was so excited to see everything and we had to move on.

The KidZone upstairs was awesome! I mean, the whole aquarium is catered to kids, but this was perfect for toddlers!

Owen and Charlie both loved putting their heads in the bubble inside of the tank! Owen was a bit awkward to hold up under there, but he did not want to come out!

And what little one wouldn’t like checking out “Nemo” and his “Daddy”!?!

There are tanks in the Creature Feature that are lower for smaller children to reach-in and touch. The kids are instructed to touch with two fingers (Charlie now talks about petting everything using two fingers). Charlie was complaining the water was too cold, so an awesome employee picked a couple up for him to see and touch without sticking his arm in. I was really impressed by this extra effort to make my boy happy!

After all the excitement, we needed some lunch. The Feeding Frenzy Café is near the entrance and Hippo Haven. The food was yummy with a large variety that we could all enjoy. I think the prices are in line with other attractions, but it’s still a bit pricey for us. If you have a membership, you do save 10% though. Next time we’ll pack a lunch and then hit up the café for an ice cream treat or pretzel. Not only is there the giant café you can eat at, but you can eat outside at the many tables available as well.

Charlie and Daddy went to check out the Stingray Beach Club while I went to feed Owen. Did I mention yet that they have a nursing room? We’ve never been able to master the art of walking around and breastfeeding, so I was so grateful for the room being available to us. Owen and I sat down in a nice comfy chair and cuddled up for about 10 minutes and he was good to go again!

Don’t worry, Owen and I went back to Stingray Beach Club to visit!

Of course, we loved the hippos! Head over to our post on Hippo Haven! You can get nose-to-nose with the 3,000+ pound hippos, Button and Genny. How cool is that?

Second to Hippo Haven, my favorite area of Adventure Aquarium was the Shark Realm. I could have sat in the Shark Tunnel for hours in amazement. Charlie thought it was really cool, but he was rather uncooperative with pictures the entire day.

Not only are the animal exhibits amazing, but there are so many interactive learning areas throughout each zone. Charlie patiently waited in line to check out this shark one!

Before we left, we actually got a family photo outside. It’s a beautiful skyline and a great shot for a picture. We’re really bad at remembering to get pictures of all of us when we go somewhere.

There is so much to see and do at Adventure Aquarium and I want to show all our pictures, but there’s just so many! If you are anywhere in the area of Camden, NJ you should definitely visit! We were there about 5 hours and had a blast. Next time we go, we’ll be checking out the 4D Theater.

Connect with Adventure Aquarium on their website, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

And… thanks to Adventure Aquarium, one Mom’s Messy Miracles reader will win a family four-pack of tickets to experience your own day of family fun!
