Spaceship Building and Pop Secret Space Bar Snack

Thanks to Pop Secret for sponsoring this post.

It is snowing here today (expecting up to 4 inches) and we’re spending the day inside building a spaceship. Some kids build forts, but we build spaceships and rocket ships. To go along with our spaceship building, we made a yummy snack using Pop Secret. Because you know… snacks make everything better.

Try this recipe for Pop Secret Space Popcorn Bars! #PopSecretForts #ad

While Charlie was working on building his spaceship, I got the Pop Secret Caramel Popcorn going.

PlayDough Fun

Tuesday night I made PlayDough with ingredients almost everyone probably has on hand.

Last night after dinner I got it out of the fridge, put Charlie at the table, and away he went.
I do suggest taking it out and working it a bit before giving it to your kid. I enjoyed playing with it anyway, I forgot how much PlayDough is a stress-reliever.

Basic PlayDough Recipe

We've been having a very cold and miserable winter here in Maryland. With the new baby, it's hard for us to get out anyway. Here's a basic playdough recipe you can make to keep your little ones (or big ones) entertained.

playdough ingredients

You will need:

  • a non-stick pot
  • 2 cups of baking soda
  • 1 1/2 cup of water
  • 1 cup of corn starch
  • food coloring (optional)

Pasta Faces!

We actually did this after dinner last night because Charlie insisted (and the pasta was dry).

I took a piece of cardstock paper and drew a circle on it by tracing a bowl with a marker.

Dyeing Pasta!

Over the holidays I pulled out some pasta for Charlie to put on a pipecleaner. He colored them with markers, we looped the pipecleaner closed, and he put it on the tree.

Daddy and Charlie went to the store today. While there, Charlie informed Daddy that they needed to get pasta "to do craft", so... in the cart the pasta went.

While Charlie was napping today, I dyed the pasta for some crafts. If you'd like to do this- it's super cheap and crazy easy! Things that all moms look for!

How to Dye Pasta

You will need:
-vinegar or alcohol
-pasta (any shape will do)
-food coloring
-wax paper
-ziploc baggies
