Celebrating Friendsgiving with Netflix

I can’t believe we’re already halfway through November. Thanksgiving is all but here and then Christmas is right around the corner! This month we're all about Friendsgiving, a popular take on Thanksgiving when friends come together to celebrate good food and great company.

Whether you're planning a Friendsgiving feast or sticking to your traditional Thanksgiving routine, show your kids why friends are worth being thankful for with this month's picks. Explore lessons about friendship from a few of the greatest duos, including Rory and Lorelai, Charlotte and Wilbur and Bob and Larry, whose all-new Netflix original, "VeggieTales in the House," starts streaming Nov. 26. We LOVE VeggieTales and I’m super excited for this!

Celebrate Mini Milestones with Netflix

I am a member of the Netflix Stream Team and received a Netflix subscription and a streaming device in return for posting Netflix updates and reviews. However, all opinions are my own and we were Netflix users prior to joining the Stream Team.

This is our first month as a Netflix Stream Team member! I’m very excited to share new Netflix finds, crafts, recipes and more with you every month!

At this point in our lives, we’ve accomplished quite a few milestones: get married, buy a house, and have a baby. I love that as parents now, we get to experience all the mini milestones x2!

This spring, Charlie started baseball and I remember how exciting it was for his first baseball game! And just last month he started preschool!

We love curling up on the couch (or often the floor) to watch movies or tv shows on Netflix. I love that Netflix has something so easily relatable to many of these mini milestones!

Peppa Pig: The Balloon Ride Arrives 8/12

If you’re not familiar with Peppa Pig, it’s a hit series for preschoolers that airs on Nick Jr. The adorable and fun little piggy, Peppa, lives with her brother George, Mummy Pig and Daddy Pig. The newest release, The Balloon Ride hits the streets on August 12, 2014 from Entertainment One.

Rachel & the TreeSchoolers need your help

To be completely honest, Charlie watches entirely too much tv. Kids these days are exposed to way more screen time than we were growing up. Here’s the kicker: Did you know that only 1 in 8 kids shows are “highly educational”?

Rachel Coleman created Signing Time with her sister Emilie. She has been nominated for an Emmy for her work on the show, which airs on public television, Nick Jr. and Netflix.

How to Get Rid of Cable and Still Be Entertained

Last year we decided to get rid of cable during the spring and summer months. We figured we could save some money and spend more time outside anyway. In our house, the tv is pretty much always on, even if no one is really watching anything. I guess we have it for background noise and something to catch your eye every now and then. Most of the shows we follow are fall shows and we watch football in the fall, so we thought it wouldn’t be too hard to give cable up for awhile.

My 10 Most Binge-worthy Shows on Netflix Right Now

I have a friend that is having surgery next week. She’ll be in the hospital for a few days, so she recently asked for suggestions of what to watch on Netflix. This made me think of the end of my pregnancy with Owen. I really went crazy on Netflix, but that’s not hard to do with all the awesome shows (new & old) that are on there.
