I need to start off by saying that I love shrimp and lobster, but I am not a fan of fish (other than tuna fish served from a can). However, when I saw the new Gorton’s Artisan Fillets, I knew I had to try them.
The Artisan Fillets are made with Wild-caught Alaska Pollock. They contain real ingredients with bold flavors. There are no fillers, MSG, artificial colors or flavors.
Gorton’s Artisan Fillets are available in 4 varieties:
We tried the Southwest Tortilla Artisan Fillet first. As a parent of two little ones, anything that makes dinner quick and easy is a plus in my book. All you need to do for dinner is toss the Artisan Fillets on a pan, bake them for the suggested time (less than 20 minutes), add in a couple sides, and dinner’s done. The smell that was coming from my oven was not a fishy smell, but a yummy southwestern one. I was psyched to try it.
Since I was nursing the baby, the hubby made up some Spanish rice from a package mix and threw a can of corn in the microwave. He added some sour cream on the plate as an added touch, though I didn’t really use it.
I must say that I will now eat fish. Well, I’ll now eat Gorton’s Artisan Fillets. The Southwest Tortilla Artisan Fillet was super tasty. The outside was perfectly crisp with the inside soft, but not mushy. I was surprised that our hit or miss toddler also loved the fillets. He ate his bites off his plate and a couple off mine. The next day, he even had some of my leftovers. Getting a toddler to eat something different is always a challenge, but having them ask for more is awesome!
